Serving Through the Storm

I saw this quote on Facebook yesterday that someone heard in a sermon from the preacher I grew up under, Dean Miller Sr. The powerful thought and truth behind this quote has been evident throughout his life. I do not know the sermon or the text he used, but I do know him and his ministry. I know the storms that he has been through and I can say that Dr. Miller is one of the most consistent and faithful men of God that I have known. He has been through storms but he hasn’t changed what he does or what he believes because of those storms.

You see, if I say this quote, the truth is still there but the power behind it, isn’t as much. Why? Because, the storms I have been through are nothing like the storms Dean Miller has been through, throughout his ministry. I need to make it my goal, that when I go through storms, to continue doing what I am supposed to do.

Dr. Miller’s life verse is Nahum 1:7. “The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.” If the Lord doesn’t change during trouble, neither should we.

Whatever storm you go through, continuing serving the Lord and let it make you a stronger and better Christian.
