“And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, That bringeth forth his fruit in his season; His leaf also shall not wither; And whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”
Psalm 1:3 KJV
Psalm 1 is packed with a lot of principles we can use to better ourselves in our Christian life.
I will probably share thoughts on the whole Psalm over the next few posts but I want to start with verse 3.
When I read this verse a few weeks ago, it hit me square in the heart. It was something I needed at that time in my life.
The phrase “like a tree” stood out and I started to think about it. In this psalm, you see people likened to two things: a tree and chaff.
I don’t know about you, but I want to be a tree. A tree is strong. It provides shade. It gives fruit. It stands through the storms. A tree is beneficial for many reasons.
I don’t want to be chaff. Chaff is something completely worthless. When you live life selfishly and wickedly, you become worthless.
Be like a tree.
