Redeeming the Time

“W

hereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.”

‭‭James‬ ‭4‬:‭14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5‬:‭15‬-‭16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.”

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭4‬:‭5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This morning, I heard a message on “Getting the Most Out of Life” from James 4:14.

While the preacher was preaching, I was thinking about how time just goes and is gone. Once that second passes, you can’t get it back. Life comes and goes and we have to make sure that the decisions we make are right and pleasing to the Lord.

I started thinking about how life is a vapor and how little time we actually have.

The Bible tells us in a couple different passages to redeem the time that we have.

Redeem here means to buy up. We need to buy up every second so that we can spend it for Christ in how we walk and talk.

HThe time you have will be gone, so use it wisely, use it for Christ.
