“Thou wilt shew me the path of life: In thy presence is fulness of joy; At thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.” Psalm 16:11 KJV
As I’ve been reading Psalms, one topic seems to be standing out to me. I feel like the Lord is really trying to get me to see what I need in my life.
That topic is joy.
Twice over the last week or so, I’ve written about joy. There have been a couple other days, I almost wrote about joy but I didn’t.
Back in mid-December, I started reading Psalms for one reason, I needed some comfort, some help, something to uplift my spirit. In four weeks, I have only made it to Psalms 16, but the Lord has spoken so much to me.
Here in this psalm, we see where joy comes from. It’s simple. “In thy presence.” The psalmist is speaking about the Lord in this passage and he states that in the Lord’s presence, there is fullness of joy.
The closer we get to the Lord, the more joy there is. If you’re lacking joy, get in His presence, it’s that simple.
Read your Bible.
Pray.
Worship Him.
Do anything you can to draw closer to Him, to get in His presence to get the joy that only He can give!
You’re not going to find joy, true joy, in others or in things. You’re not going to find joy in events or circumstances. You will only find joy in His presence.
Strive to be in His presence everyday, so that you can be filled with joy and live a joyful life!
