“The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is thy servant warned: And in keeping of them there is great reward.”

Every time I read this passage, I read verses 7-10 in a singing voice in my head. I learned these verses through a song and it is probably one of my favorite songs from scripture.
But as I was reading it today, it was verse 11 that stood out to me. The last phrase specifically “And in keeping of them there is great reward.”
What are we supposed to be keeping? Verses 7-10 outline that for us.
The law of the Lord.
The testimonies of the Lord.
The statues of the Lord.
The commandment of the Lord.
The fear of the Lord.
The judgment of the Lord.
We find all these in the Scriptures, in the Bible. Verse 11 tells us first to be warned by what we read and the keep what we read. Live out the Bible. Let the Scriptures be seen in and through you.
I believe when you read the Bible and you practice what you read, God will bless you in your life. There will be great reward.
