Yesterday we talked about choices. Everything in life we do is a choice. It is a choice of right or wrong. It’s choice to live for self or live for Christ.
In church, this morning, I heard a message that went along with the thought of choices and it was on being a disciple or follower of Christ.
In Luke 14:25-35, we see the phrase “he cannot be my disciple.” This phrase follows a statement by Christ that shows three different things we have to do to be a disciple of Christ.
First, what is a disciple? A disciple is one who accepts and assists in spreading the doctrines of another. A disciple of Christ is one who spreads the Gospel of Christ through what they say and how they live.
Secondly, who can be a disciple? I believe anyone who has accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour can be a disciple. I also believe that not everyone who is saved is a disciple of Christ.
Being a disciple brings a level of loyalty and love for Christ that isn’t common among everyone.
Over the next few days, I want to talk about how to be a disciple of Christ.
