“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.” Galatians 6:7-10
The law of sowing and reaping. Understanding it is pretty simple, living it….well that’s a whole different matter.
What is the law of sowing and reaping? Simply, it is if you sow or plant something, you will reap or harvest the same thing in more abundance of what you planted.
We may sow in private or we may sow in public, but no matter what, “God is not mocked.” God knows what you do, no matter who else knows. Even though we may sow in private, at some point you will have to reap and more often than not, that is public.
It’s simple, we sow to our flesh, we will reap corruption. We will see decay in our lives, whether it be spiritually, physically, mentally or emotionally. Constantly sowing to our flesh, will eventually bring death….spiritually or physically.
When we sow to the Spirit, we will reap life everlasting. Meaning that we may not see the harvest here on earth but one day you will see the entire harvest of your life in Heaven.
The thing about reaping is that we never know when the harvest will be. We can guess and probably get pretty close but it’ll happen when it happens. You have to purposefully sow, whether good or bad, you have to decide what you sow. At some point the harvest will come and it’ll be time to either reap blessings or consequences.
In the Christian life, we have to purposefully sow the Word of God in our life, our families lives and others lives. The harvest from that sowing will come one day but we may have to endure storms and tribulations. Don’t get weary, don’t faint m, continue serving the Lord so you can reap the good things the Lord has for you!
