“A man’s heart deviseth his way; but the LORD directeth his steps.” Proverbs 16:9
Think of the definition of the word ‘allow’. It means to permit, to give permission for or to approve of. As I think of this word I ask myself questions. Do I allow the Lord to work in my life, to change me, to mold me? Do I really allow Him to be the potter of my life? Do I allow Him to direct my steps? Do I allow Him to take my heart, to break it and then to reshape it just as a potter does for a vessel? Do I allow Him to walk with me day by day…or is He just here? By that, I mean is He just a by word, a crutch to lean on, or maybe an escape plan at my beck and call? Oh, so many questions to ask my heart?
If the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, should I not trust in His leading? Should I not allow Him to mold me and make me? He is the strength in every Christian’s life. He knows and directs every step. He keeps me from the hurt and destruction in my life. Not only is He my leader but He is the master potter. He loves me so much that He gave His own Son as payment for my sins. His desire is to mold me into the Christian lady He desires me to be. So the question is if I do allow Him to mold me and if so, how do I allow His molding.
First, I acknowledge His desire and capability and then I yield myself tothe potter’s, His, hands. I allow Him to soften me and reshape me to make my life for His purpose. He loves me so much; He takes the time to mold this sinner saved by grace.
May each one of us always be pliable to His molding and to following His purpose. Let’s allow our Master Potter!
