The Strength of A Cloud

Ascribe ye strength unto God: his excellency is over Israel, and his strength is in the clouds.” Psalms 68:35

What a thought! His strength is not the clouds but in the clouds. Clouds are ever present for the most part and are made up of a bunch of liquid water droplets that are so small they can be thrown around by the wind. We cannot physically sit on a cloud in the sky, nor does a cloud have any real ability to hold anything. Yes, there are storms in and as a result of the clouds but the clouds alone do not make the storms. Just think of thewind’s part in the storm; think of the temperature’s part in the storm. It takes more than the clouds alone.

These same weak clouds hold the strength of God? I think of God’s strength as I read my Bible. God is so strong He first loved! Yes, He loved us, the sinners, with a love that would save us from all our sin. Then He spoke and all was created! Think about the strength He has to have in order to utter a word and creation to take place! That is pure strength! He was also strong enough to part the Red Sea! He was strong enough to feed the five thousand with five loaves and two fishes! He was strong enough to raise Lazarus from the dead! He has the power, the strength, to conquer death and hell through just one drop of His blood!

He has the ultimate strength and yet the weak, weightless, delicate clouds hold His strength!? Those clouds demonstrate His nearness as they are the dust of His footsteps. He said He will never leave us nor forsake us. Those same clouds remind us of His strength. He is strong enough to not only hear our heart’s cries but to hold us in His heart’s love. His strength wraps His arms of love around us from the moment of salvation throughout eternity!

Look up at the clouds and thank Him for His nearness and His strength!

We are so blessed!!
