His Vision of Me

Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

How do I see myself? How do others see me? More importantly, how does God see me? Those are actually hard questions to ask ourselves as we really do want to be viewed in a good light.

We all want our testimony to be that of a Godly Christian lady. We want our fellow Christians to think well of us and to know we truly are walking with the Lord. So, we need to answer the questions honestly.

When we see who we really are- we see a sinner. We see our failures, our poor attitudes, our lack of faith, our unworthiness. Others see only what we allow them to see. They see our smiles, our tears, our struggles, all the while viewing our testimony. They see only what we show them as wecan keep many things hidden if we choose. Yes, sometimes we slip and they get a new view of us.

The true question is how the Lord sees us. He knows even the thoughts and intents of our heart. He sees everything. He knows all we know about our own self, what we allow others to see and ever so much more. He knows the plans He has for our life and things we have no idea that we will be faced with. He knows the reactions we will have for those unknown happenings. He knows what we will succeed at and what we will struggle with and may fail at. He knows every bit of everything about each one of us. He knows of our sin and knows the free gift He gave for us. Yes, He knows all the sin yet sees each of us now as a sinner saved by His grace. He now sees the blood of His Son and looks at us through His eyes of love.

We need to take our eyes off of what we think of ourselves and what we allow others to see of us. We need to focus on what He sees of us. He is the most important!

If we keep our eyes on the Lord and keep our hearts right with Him, we will never be ashamed of the thoughts and intents of our heart!
