Lost and Found

Proverbs 18:15 “The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge.

The word “lost” makes me think of a tennis shoe or even a piece of jewelry that has been misplaced. Once we realize the item is missing we do our best to find it. Yes, lost does have other meanings outside of our scope of earthly things and losing a part of your heart is definitely on the list. I have lost a part of my heart which makes me think about what I have found, what I have gained.

I have found that the Lord is ever so, so much more precious than I ever imagined. I have read through my Bible many times since salvation and thought I knew of the things that God does and can do for me. But now I KNOW the things God does and can do for me. I KNOW them in a different light, a different manner. I knew God could comfort me, now I KNOW He can comfort me as He is truly my Comforter. I knew God was the balm of Gilead, now I KNOW He is my balm of Gilead, my ointment, my bandage. I knew He was the still small voice to a soul, now I KNOW He is my still small voice, the whisper to my heart. I knew God was my hiding place, my protector and guard. I knew He was always here, now I KNOW He has always been with me. He will never leave me lonely. Through my losses I have gained, found, so much dearer a relationship with my Lord. He has always been here with me! I have just been allowed to see more of Him and His greatness.

Do not look at what you have lost without first looking at what you have found. Then rejoice that He, the Lord, is always enough!
