“But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel; So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places; And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear. Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will: The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds: But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel.” Philippians 1:12-17
These verses talk about the spreading of the Gospel.
Many people found boldness to preach the gospel of Christ because of Paul’s stand. It takes one person to make a difference, to embolden others, to do right and preach Christ!
The problem that Paul was seeing was that some were preaching Christ to start problems and others were preaching Christ to win souls! Although Christ was being preached, a bigger difference could have been made if Christ was preached in the right spirit!
Each one of us to need to preach Christ! Not to say we are better than the next person but to tell everyone possible about the saving power of Christ!
