“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” Philippians 2:5-8
I love these verses. It tells how to live like Christ. It tells us the mind of Christ. It tells us the heart of Christ.
Christ came to earth for one reason, to die on the cross, rise again, to offer us salvation!
One of the craziest phrases in this passage is “he humbled himself.” Jesus, the Son of God, the Living Word, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Jesus the Almighty, the one whom everyone will bow before one day….humbled himself…to die on the cross. He humbled himself to give us eternal life!
How can we have the mind of Christ? Be humble.
How can we have the mind of Christ? Tell others about Him.
It’s easy to say but hard to live by.
