Being Thankful

We have just finished up the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. We enjoyed the family time, kept it lowkey in the kitchen by going to a family potluck style Thanksgiving and just relaxed.

I was thinking about Thanksgiving and how it started and then what it’s turned into.

When it started, people were truly thankful for the food and the family. People focused on the blessings that God had given them.

Now, it’s the kickoff to one of the biggest spending weekends of the year.

I find it interesting, we go from “being thankful” to getting as much we can, eating as much as we can and overall being “selfish” in our actions this weekend.

All I’m trying to say is, remember to stop and be thankful for everything God has given you and even hasn’t given you. Just be thankful, every day of the year, not just Thanksgiving day.

Psalms 95:2 “Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.
