I feel like I set goals that I never hit.
I feel like I have dreams that never become reality.
I feel like I’m stuck on the journey, not moving forward and not moving backward.
I haven’t quit, if that’s what you are wondering. I am just maintaining.
I look for the strength and motivation to move ahead and than life hits me and I just stay in one place.
Do I feel like a failure if I don’t hit my goals? Yes, yes, I do!
My competitive side wants to be the best I can be and do the best I can do.
My lazy, fleshly, selfish side just wants to kick back and my play some Xbox or Marvel Contest of Champions on my phone.
Some days the competitive side wins and other days the lazy side wins.
I started this blog a couple years ago with a desire to put out good, godly content on multiple platforms in multiple ways! Such a big goal and dream and yet here I am still struggling with getting going.
Some days, some weeks, and even some months, I feel like I do great and than other times I barely do anything and I feel like such a bum.
Whenever I think like this and get this defeated attitude and mindset, I think of two verses.
“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Philippians 4:13 I love this verse for the simple fact that it reminds that I don’t have to go through life alone. Whatever we do, if we do it through Christ, we can do it. As a Christian, we need Christ to help us in whatever we do. Rely on Him for strength to accomplish great things for Him in life!
“Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.” Ecclesiastes 9:10 KJV This reminds that whatever I do, I need to give my all at it. I always want to strive to be the best. I’m not okay with having a loser mentality or satisfied with being mediocre. I am a firm believer that God blesses hard work!
So when I feel like I am in a slump or I feel defeated, I just remind myself that I am already on the winning side!
I remind myself that I am not alone!
I remind myself that I have Christ by my side. He is there to help me when I need it!
I remind myself that if I do this “through Christ” I will be alright!
