Enthusiasm: a strong excitement of feeling, something inspiring zeal or fervor; belief in special revelations of the Holy Spirit, religious fanaticism.
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;” Colossians 3:23
“Enthusiasm is a kind of faith that has been set afire.” George Matthew Adams
“Enthusiasm is the mother of effort, the sustaining power of all great action.”
“Enthusiasm is being fully absorbed in your dream.”
“Enthusiasm is the sparkle in your eyes; it is the swing in your gait, the grip of your hand, the irresistible surge of your will, and your energy to execute your ideas.” Henry Ford
Earnestness is enthusiasm tempered by reason.
We need to serve the Lord with enthusiasm! We need to be excited about what He has done in our own lives and share that with those around us!
I think that sometimes we don’t achieve what we could achieve because we aren’t excited about it, we lack passion and desire, and because of that we just meander throughout life.
The Bible says in Ephesians 2:1,4-5 “And you hath he quickened who were dead in trespasses and sins;…But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)”
If you can’t get excited and enthusiastic about your salvation, you may want to check that out. We have been quickened or made alive through Christ! We have been made alive to serve Him! We were dead in our trespasses and sins, we had no life, we had nothing to be excited about.
Get an enthusiasm for the service of God and you will be amazed at what you can accomplish!
