Focus on Labouring

“I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. Now he that planteth and he that watereth are on: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.” I Corinthians 3:6-9

Probably my favorite phrase from these verses is ‘For we are labourers together with God…’ We are not here in life labouring on our own. We are labouring with God. When we learn that simple truth, than we can realize that God has everything under control, all we have to do is our part.

Our part, our ministry, our job as a Christian is to go and tell the world about Jesus Christ! We may win some, we may plant the seed in some, we may get rejected by others…but our job is to go and tell.

Don’t worry about the results of going, let God take care of that. The Bible says we shall receive a reward of our own labour. It doesn’t say that we will receive a reward based on the results or the outcome of our labour. God is looking for that faithful servant, who continues in the ministry daily, telling others about Christ, serving the Lord, labouring for Him.

Focus on doing what God has called you to do and let Him bring the increase in your life!
