I’m thankful for every verse in the King James Bible. Each verse, each word is exactly what God wanted me to know.
Throughout the Bible, I have some favorite books, passages and verses. I love reading Proverbs and the epistles that Paul was used to write.
Today, I want to share five verses that I am thankful for. Some are well-known verses and a couple are just some of my favorite that I use to motivate myself in different areas of life.
- John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Probably the most well-known verse in the Bible and for good reason! I am thankful for this because it shows God’s love and God’s grace and God’s mercy. Without the truth found in this verse, we wouldn’t have the opportunity of salvation.
- I Timothy 1:12 “And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;” This verse here is my life verse and also where I get the name for this website. I remember that moment when I decided to use this as my life verse. I was thinking about running, about giving up about going to do my own thing and leave everything I knew behind. This verse reminded me that God has given everything I needed to serve Him and that He has chosen me for a specific reason.
- Ecclesiastes 5:3 “For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool’s voice is known by multitude of words.” I am thankful that God blesses hard work. Every time I read this verse, I am reminded to work hard and watch God bless. Too often we talk to much and work to less (I know that is improper English.) We need to talk less and work more and when we do, we will see our dreams become reality.
- Hebrews 4:16 “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Man, this verse gets me excited! To know that no matter the day or the hour, I can boldly approach the throne of grace, the throne of Jesus Christ, and get help when I need it, it doesn’t get much better than that! I am so thankful that I have a God who hears my prayers, and just doesn’t hear them but will answer them with exactly what I need!
- Psalms 27:1 “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” I am thankful that everything I need, the Lord is. He is the light in my darkness, He the salvation in my despair and He is my strength when I am decrepit. I am thankful that the Lord is ALL I need in life!
