Last week, we had a tree limb fall and take out our power line. It took about 4 days to get everything up and running again. But during that time, I was at home with no lights, it was quiet, it was uncomfortably warm. It was like living with no power!
You never realize how important something is until you go without. First, I want to say I’m thankful that I live in a place where power is easily accessible! Secondly, I hope I never take it for granted either!
As much as we need power in our daily life, we need power in our spiritual life. Yet, so many Christians go through life in the dark, it’s quiet. They don’t have the power of Christ on and in their lives!
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
2 Timothy 1:7 KJV
“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,”
Ephesians 3:20 KJV
“Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.”
Romans 15:13 KJV
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
Acts 1:8 KJV
As a Christian, we have God’s power in our lives, we just fail to use it! Most of the time we try to do everything on our own, even when it comes to serving God.
It’s time that we flip the switch on when it comes to using God’s power! We have to be plugged into the Word of God, have a relationship with God if we want to use the power of God.
As a Christian, we all have access to the power of God but few of us use it and use it to its fullest extent! It’s like having power in your house but deciding you’re not going to turn on the lights, unplugging the fridge, turning of the air and just not using any electricity; we are the same way with God’s power! We have access, but decline not too use it!
Don’t live life without using the power of God that you have available to you.
