Joy and Praise

“But I have trusted in thy mercy; My heart shall rejoice in thy salvation. I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.” Psalm‬ ‭13‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Continuing on with the thought from yesterday of being washed whiter than snow, I want to spend a few minutes rejoicing in my salvation.

The psalmist states that because he trusted in the Lord’s mercy, he is able to rejoice in the salvation of the Lord.

I started thinking, it says “thy salvation.” I didn’t save myself, the Lord saved me. The salvation I have doesn’t hinge upon my goodness and my strength, it’s all on the Lord!

Because it’s His salvation, my heart can rejoice! I have peace and comfort in knowing it’s because of Christ I am saved, not because of myself or anyone else!

Then we read in the next verse how the psalmist sings unto the Lord because of the blessings he had been given!

If the Lord has blessed you in any way, you should have a song in your heart! I have so much to praise God about. He has been so good to me! He has blessed me with a beautiful family, a great church, a job that provides for our needs, and so much more! I should praise Him all the day long for everything God has given me! He surely has dealt bountifully with me!

Find joy and praise in the salvation of the Lord and the blessings He has given you! Don’t let the things of this world and the trials of life bring your spirit down!
