“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.” Psalms 23:1
This verse, is probably one of the more popular verses in the Bible. It’s the beginning of one of the most popular chapters in the Bible. The whole psalm is well-known and there are many truths found in the six verses of Psalms 23.
I have quoted this verse in my mind hundreds of times the past couple weeks. I have faced some of the hardest trials a human could face in a short amount of time. I made a point a few weeks ago that God just hasn’t been good, but He is good currently. He never stops being good.
Because He is good, I have found immense comfort in this simple verse. “The Lord is my shepherd.” When I stop and think about that simple statement, I realize that the Lord, the Creator of all things, the ruler above all, the Almighty One, is MY Shepherd.
It’s PERSONAL.
The Lord is MY Shepherd.
Let that sink in, if you are a saved child of God, you too can say “The Lord is my shepherd.”
The Lord is my shepherd. He watches over me. He leads me. He guides me. He provides for me. He cares for me. The Lord is my shepherd.
I don’t have to wonder if someone is going to take care of me.
I don’t have to worry about how my day is going to go.
I can rest in the promise of knowing, the Lord is my shepherd.
