Pathway Through Proverbs: Chapter 15

Chapter 15: What Is Your Face Saying?

“A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.” Proverbs 15:13

The look on your face speaks volumes!

What is on the inside will show on the outside!

You can smile without being happy. You can laugh without being glad. You can express some type of emotion without feeling it on the inside.

Your countenance, the look on your face is there no matter whether you smile or frown, whether you laugh or cry. Your countenance is determined by what is in your heart.

The people I work with tell me all the time that they know how I feel just by looking at my face. They can tell if I’m happy or upset, they can see if I’m having a good day or a bad day. My countenance is definitely easily read.

We need to strive to have a merry heart. We can do that by surrounding ourselves with other people that are genuinely happy. We can put in good and positive things into our mind by what we see and hear.

What you put in, will come out. It may not be today or tomorrow but eventually it will come out. You can not keep putting bad in and expect to get good out. You control your attitude and your spirit so make sure that you are feeding it the right things.

Your countenance says it all!
