What To Do With God’s Gift

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23

God’s gift of eternal life is the greatest gift in all the world. There is nothing else that compares to it. The blessing and joy that comes from knowing the Lord as your personal Saviour is unmatched by anything else.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

Jesus Christ came down to earth in the form of a human. He lived a sinless, perfect life. He was taken and beaten. He was crucified. He shed all His blood. He was buried. He rose again on that third day. He ascended back into Heaven and is sitting on the right hand of the Father. All that is God’s gift to you and I. Everything Jesus went through was so that you and I can have eternal life in Heaven with Him.

God’s gift of eternal life, God’s gift of salvation is for anyone. It isn’t just for people of a certain culture, race, or background. God’s gift doesn’t rely on your social standing or how much money you have in your bank account. His gift doesn’t have a limited number of entries. God’s gift is for everyone!

So what do we need to with God’s gift? There are really only two things we can and should do with…

1. GET IT – If you haven’t gotten God’s gift yet, you need to get it. There is no greater thing than knowing for sure that you are going to Heaven. Getting God’s gift is simple. It doesn’t require church attendance or baptism. Good deeds won’t grant you access to God’s gift. You can get God’s gift by just taking it and accepting Christ as your Saviour. “For whosever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13
2. GIVE IT – If you have accepted Christ as your Saviour, than the only thing that is let for you to do with God’s gift is to give it! We are commanded to go into all the world and preach the Gospel! Don’t be stingy with what God has blessed you with, give it out! Tell others about Jesus Christ! Tell others about God’s gift!
