Top 3 Bible Study Tools

Studying the Bible can be an enjoyment when you have the right tools to study with. I believe that everything God wants us to know can be found in the pages of the Bible. We should apply ourselves to studying and learning what God has for us in His Word.

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

II Timothy 2:15

Let me get into the 3 tools I think you need for efficient Bible study!

  1. The King James Bible

To study the Bible, you must first have the Bible. I use and only will use the King James Bible, so that will be the only Bible that I endorse in my personal life and here on this blog. Studying the Bible starts with reading the Bible. I think that sometimes we focus too much on studying and not enough on reading. We need to daily read the Word of God and sometimes that will be the best study that you can do. The Bible is the best answer for itself. If you are studying the Bible, use the Bible!

2. 1828 Webster’s Dictionary

I love this dictionary! Mr. Webster uses Bible verses to help describe some of the words in the dictionary. Yes, I do look up words online sometimes due to convenience, but when I sit down to dig deep into God’s Word, I will pull out this dictionary.

3. Strong’s Concordance

I remember when I finally learned how to use a Strong’s Concordance. It definitely made studying easier. From being able to find any specific word in the Bible to looking up the Hebrew and Greek definitions of words and how they were used is very useful when it comes to studying and understanding the Bible.

There are many more tools that you can use to study the Bible, like commentaries. I have never really used commentaries. Because I haven’t used them regularly, I am not going to pick one above the other and say it is the best one.

I know you can’t go wrong with using a Bible, a dictionary, and a concordance when studying the Bible. At the end of the day, you should study the Bible on a regular basis but you need to use tools that help you learn and grow in your Christian life.
