This past week felt like it took forever to pass! Between church and work and everything else, I was wore out this past week! I was physically and mentally tired!
When I get physically and mentally tired, I realize that it is harder to do everything I want and need to do! When you are tired and have had a long day or week, when you are out of energy and strength, that is when the devil will attack the hardest! Satan doesn’t care about how much you have done, he just wants to get you to mess up and not do anything else for the Lord.
People who are tired tend to let their guard down, they are more emotional, they don’t think straight, anything will set them off.
So when we are tired from life, when we have had a long week, or if it has felt like a long month… When you are worn out from standing for right and fighting for the Lord…
When it feels like you are too tired to do more…
What should you do?
Draw closer to God! “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ya sinners; and purify your hearts, ya double minded.” James 4:7-8 If there is one thing we should do when we are tired, we need to draw as close to God as possible! When we are tired, if we draw closer to God, He will draw closer to us. The closer we get to God the farther away from Satan we will get!
Depend on God’s strength. “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Philippians 4:11 When we get tired, we get weak. It is during these times that we need to realize that we cannot do life on our own. Whether we are strong or weak, we need the strength of Christ in our life. We cannot fight Satan in our own power, especially when we are tired! We need to realize that no matter what we do in life, we need to do it through the strength and power of Christ!!
Any Decisions that are made need to be based on Biblical principles. When we are tired, we tend to let things slip and end up doing things half-heartedly. We will make decisions based on what is easiest and not what is right. When we are tired, it is crucial that we continue to make decisions based on Biblical principles, even if it seems hard to do at that moment! No matter what the situation, always make decisions based off of Biblical principles!
These 3 things are good to do when you are physically tired, but they should be things that we do on a daily basis, no matter how we feel. If we walk with God and depend on Him daily, than basing decisions of Biblical principles will be a no-brainer, whether you are tired or wide awake!
