Where’s Your Focus

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭12:1-2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

So I am getting all my 2020 blogs out of my head. This year will have a lot of eyesight and vision references. But as a Christian, it is important that our eyes and our vision are on the right things!

Our focus as a Christian should be on Jesus Christ. He is the author and finisher of our faith. He is the beginning and the end of everything we know! Christ was here long before we were and He will still be long after us!

As we get ready to go through the year 2020, I want you to ask yourself, ‘Where is my focus at?’

This is a serious question to ask ourselves. Our feet will eventually follow our focus.

It is like driving, when you take your focus off of the road for an extended period of time, you start to drive towards wherever you are looking. You will naturally follow your focus.

You may think you are walking straight down the path of life, but if your focus isn’t wholly on the things of God, you will eventually end up of the path that God wants you on!

Your focus in the Christian life needs to be on Jesus Christ! “Looking unto Jesus…”

The Bible tells us to look unto Jesus! He should be where our gaze is fixed! He should be our focus in life!

Why should we focus on Jesus Christ?

Because He saved us! The first reason we should focus on Jesus Christ is because He provided us a way to Heaven, a way to escape Hell. Jesus gave Himself for us so that we can have salvation. If you are a saved child of Jesus Christ, your focus in life should be on Him. Christ is the beginning and ending of our faith and He is everything in between. Focus on Christ because of His gift of salvation.

Because of what He has given us! If you take a minute to look at your life and see everything that God has given you, you would have no reason but to focus on Him. Everything we are, everything we have is from Jesus Christ. Stop focusing on yourself and your problems and look at the blessings you have been given in life. One of the problems with Christians today is we get our focus off of Christ because we are looking at the things we don’t have instead of the things we do have.

Because of what He has in store for us! Do you realize that God knows what is ahead in your life? Too often, we take matters into our own hands and we end up with far less in life because we didn’t trust God to take us to where He wanted us. If we take our focus off of Christ, we will end up off the path He has for us.

Where is your focus in 2020?

Is it on Christ?

Is it on yourself and your problems and the things you want?

“Looking unto Jesus…”
