Spiritual P.T.S.D.

I am sharing this message that was preached by Bob Gray II on 4/7/2019. I listened to and even though a somewhat short message, it was filled with some powerful truths. The rawness and emotion was felt and it truly came from Bro. Gray’s heart and him being led by the Holy Spirit!

Below is the link to watch this message and I encourage you that you do and let it speak to you.

Spiritual P.T.S.D. – spiritual shock, spiritual distrust, spiritual burnout due to the dictatorial, manipulative spiritual leadership that was about building church kingdoms at any cost with no regard to the family structure and/or personal dignity.

Lesson Learned

“Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. Let all your things be done with charity.”

I Corinthians 16:13-14

So I am pretty sure I know what God wanted me to learn this week. It seems that everything I hear or read has something to with love and charity.

I have talked about how we need to love sinners. We get caught up in in hating sin so much that we starting hating the sinner also. We need to be like Christ and remember that He loved the sinner.

I have talked about how we need to have more than just love but charity also. Charity is love in action. We should show our love to the sinners by witnessing to them, warning them of their sin and by willing to serve and help them.

Then I see these verses. It goes from telling us to be strong, stand fast in the faith, to everything we do should be done with charity.

Christianity is a selfless lifestyle. Christianity is a serving lifestyle. It is a lifestyle that should be acted out with charity and loving people.

Now I am not saying that Christianity is a weak or wimpy lifestyle. In fact, it is quite the opposite. It is a lifestyle that takes strength, strength through Christ. It is a lifestyle that takes a will to stand for what is right.

As a Christian, we have to find that balance between these two ‘lifestyles.’ God wants us to find that balance, as He Himself is a just God. We have to learn to stand and fight for what’s right. We have to learn to love and serve others.

But no matter what we do, we should do it with charity.

So if you need one lesson to take away from my blogs this week, let it be this:

Live a life that is built on charity.
