Pathway Through Proverbs: Chapter 28

Chapter 28: The Best Way to Make Money

“A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.”‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭28:20‬‬

“Not the possession of wealth, nor even the acquisition of it, is evil, but the eager haste of covetousness.” – Barnes’ Notes on the Bible

Everyone is trying to make money somehow, someway. There is the easy money made quickly and the money that is hard earned.

The second part of the verse really stuck out when it said “he that make the haste to be rich shall not be innocent.” I looked up the word innocent and one definition stuck out and that was “free from moral wrong, not corrupted.”

When the desire to make quick money is there, you may make decisions that aren’t morally right. The corruption of coveting will set in.

When this happens, you will miss out on the blessings that you could have had. On the opportunities from being faithful to hard work. On being faithful to being morally right in your decisions.

Quick money is easily gotten and easily lost.

Blessings, well those come from God to those who are faithful.

It’s your choice on where you want your money to come from!

The moral of the story is don’t drop your morals to make easy money!
