Loving Like God

This morning on my way to work, I was listening to the Bible. There were two verses that stuck out, I John 4:7-8. These verses talk about the love of God. “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.”

One of the best ways to describe God is love. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 The greatest act of love ever displayed throughout history was when God gave His Son to die for sinners.

One thing that amazes me about God is how just He is. How fair He is. How equal He is. Because as much love as God has, He has the same amount of wrath. Reading through the Bible, we find stories of God’s love but we also find stories of God’s wrath.

God wants us to be like Him, He wants us to love one another…but He wants us to hate sin just as much. We should never hate the sinner, we should never hate one another. But in this day and age we, as a people have a hard separating the sin from the sinner.

How are we as Christians supposed to love like God?

In this world full of hate, how are we supposed to love like God?

The way to love like God, is to tell people about God’s love. The way to love like God is to be a witness. The way to love like God, is to spread the Gospel wherever you go.

We are all human, and at some point we will all disagree with one another but that doesn’t mean we can’t love each other. As a Christian, I want to show God’s love by being a witness to those around me, whether we agree or not.

When it comes down to it, if we don’t love than we don’t know God like we should. Each one of us should strive to be closer to God and one way we can do that is by loving others!
