Guard Your Heart

We are into our week at camp. It has been good already and we still have 3 days left! The theme of camp this year is “Guard Your Heart!” The theme verse is Proverbs 4:23, “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”The first message of camp, Bob Gray preached from this verse. He made it practical from the junior age all the way to the oldest adult. As a child, my parents guarded me from all kinds of stuff. They guarded me from the world and all the filth and vile that it presented. I became an adult and I got rid of all the guards I had in my life. I decided I was my own man. I decided I could make my own decisions. I messed up….I should have never let my guards go.Guards are there to protect you. Guards are there to worry about problems and trials so you don’t have to. As a parent, I am a guard for my two girls. It’s is my duty to guard their hearts from the world. It is my duty to protect them as much as I can from the evil that surrounds them. It is my duty to make sure to place guards in their life that will guard them like I do, that will protect them like I do. Guards protect your heart. They allow you to live a happy and blessed life.
