Thoughts on Disobedience

“The cost of obedience is nothing compared to the cost of disobedience.”

When I saw this quote, I thought of the song “Sin Will Take You Farther.”

Sin Will Take You Farther – The Cathedrals

In the chorus of this song is a line that states, “Sin will cost you far more than you want to pay.”

“For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.” Romans 5:19

Adam and Eve’s disobedience in the garden had a steep price, all men became sinners because of it.

Disobedience doesn’t always affect just yourself, it will also affect those around you.

When you disobey, be prepared to always pay a high rate.

We think that disobedience is the act of not doing or obeying what we have been told. We seem to think that, that definition just means told by man and not necessarily told by God. We have a whole Book of commands from God that we so flippantly disobey because we think they don’t apply to us or that we can get by doing it our way. Disobedience is disobedience no matter how you look at it.

I rather be inconvenienced and obey and do what is right than end paying with my life because I disobeyed.
