One Accord

So I started a part-time job a few weeks ago at UPS. The work isn’t too bad, but the shift is horrible…but it is the only shift that works out with my other job. I will tell you that working two jobs is no fun, but it is a necessity right now to be able to reach some goals I have in my life!

Anyways, last night was a crazy, busy night. Boxes were coming down the conveyor three and four wide on the belt. Now the area I work in is called the Irregs. Our job is to look for specific door numbers that we are assigned and load those boxes onto carts. As the night goes on, the availability of the carts starts to dwindle as we are waiting on the loaders to empty them. But that doesn’t stop the boxes from coming down the belt. We still have to do our job. By the end of the night, everyone was helping each other. We were helping each other stack boxes on the carts, pull the boxes off the belts, just whatever needed to me done. We were helping each other because we all had a common goal, that was to get out of there and go home. It took teamwork to accomplish the task quicker and better than if we were to do it by ourselves.

Teamwork is a necessity in every area of life. We have to learn to work together to achieve greater things. In the book of Acts, we see where they were in one accord.

“These all continued in one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.”

Acts 1:14

“And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.” Acts 2:1

“And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.”

Acts 8:16

“It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,”

Acts 15:25

The first church was in one accord and they saw great things happen.

They prayed in one accord.

They gathered together in one accord.

They gave listened and learned in on accord.

They sent others out in one accord.

Because they were in one accord, they had great things happen. The miracles that the first church was able to accomplish came through the power of God and being in one accord.

Teamwork helps get the job done. Being in one accord helps accomplish great things!
