“Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is profitable to me for the ministry.”
2 Timothy 4:11 KJV
The message I heard a few Sunday nights ago was from this verse. The message was on being profitable in our life (I can’t remember the exact title.)
Since that Sunday night, I have been thinking a lot about this message. I have been asking myself, am I profitable to someone?
Am I profitable to Christ?
Am I profitable to my spouse?
Am I profitable to my church?
Am I profitable to my boss?
The simple definition of profitable is beneficial, useful.
Who are you beneficial too? Who are useful too?
To be profitable to someone, you cannot be selfish. There will have to be sacrifice on your part. You have to put someone else and their needs before yours.
Paul found Mark profitable to him because Mark was willing to put aside his needs to help out Paul.
We have to be available to profitable! If you aren’t available to be used, you will not be profitable to anyone. Are you available for God to use you? Or are you too busy with sports and work and other things that you have no time for God!
We have to be dependable to profitable! How can you be profitable to someone if you aren’t even dependable? If you have a hard time showing up to where you are supposed to be, if you have a hard time fulfilling your duties, you will not be considered profitable to anyone.
Once you show that you are available when needed and show that you are dependable to fulfill whatever needs done, then you will become valuable and considered profitable!
Don’t be like Demas who forsook Paul! Be like Mark who was profitable and useful to Paul!
