Girl Dad

I’m sitting here rocking my baby girl to sleep. She is sick and doesn’t feel good and is having a hard time falling asleep.

As I sit here, I’m thinking about the blessings that God has given me and two of the greatest blessings are my little girls! I wouldn’t trade them for anything in the world! I love them so much!

I never thought my life would be full of pink and purple and bows and dolls. I never thought that I would have little princesses. Being a guy, I guess I assumed that I would have boys. Boys that were into sports and superheroes and just boy stuff! But God knew what I needed!

There is something about a little girl that just melts your heart! When they grip your finger or look up at you and smile….that’s your baby girl.

I hope and pray that I can be the father my girls need. I pray that I can raise them the way God wants me too! I’m blessed to be a girl Dad and I wouldn’t want it any other way.

Lord, please help me to be the godly father to my daughters. Help me to instruct them in the way of your Word. Help me to be the type of man that they look for in a future husband, a man who loves you, who works hard, who shows respect to those around him. Help me to love them the way you love me, to forgive when they do wrong, to comfort when they are sad, to bring joy and happiness when they are down. Help me to be best the father I can to them. Thank you Lord for my daughters. In Jesus name, Amen
