No matter what is going on, we can have peace. We can have peace if we know where true peace comes from, and that is God. “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 This is Jesus speaking in this verse, and we see see that peace is through Him. Christ so clearly states that in Him is peace and in the world is tribulation.

Have you ever wondered why you are going through rough times. It seems that life is just full of storms, maybe you have too much world in your life and not enough Christ in your life. Christ will bring peace to your life if you let Him!

How do we gain peace through Christ. Simple, have a relationship with Him. Read His Word. Talk to Him daily. Serve Him with your life.

The true peace that comes from Christ has some benefits to it.

Peace through Christ will give protection to your mental and spiritual well-being. “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7 We see here that the peace of God will keep our heart and our mind through Christ Jesus. We are weak, we are defenseless in this world if we don’t have Christ. If we are a saved, child of Christ, having a close relationship with Him, we can have the peace that will protect us from the attacks of Satan and the world. In the following verses of Philippians 4, we see that we are given instruction on how to think and what to think on. We are given instruction on being content. Then we also see that we should have confidence in Christ as He will help us in all things.

Peace through Christ will give a passive spirit when wronged. “Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.” Psalms 119:165 I don’t read this verse as a verse that says that we should never get offended, I read it as a verse that says that when we are wronged by family or friends or whoever, we won’t be offended. I believe that we should be offended when the world pushes sin and evil and wickedness down our throats, but when someone says something bad about us or gossips about us or hurts our feelings, we shouldn’t get offended. We should be passive when it comes to petty things in life. We let the littlest things offend us and get us off track of serving God! We need get in the Word of God and love His Word and we will learn how to forgive and forget like He does, and we won’t be offended over every little thing that comes our way!

We need peace through Christ if we are going to live a life for Him. “For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” Romans 8:6 Our thoughts, our actions, our talk, everything we do should be based off of the Bible, we need to be spiritually minded if we are ever going to have peace. If we let the world, the flesh and the devil rule our minds, we will be confused, we will have trouble, and ultimately death…whether it be physical death or spiritual death!

You can have peace! Live your life following Christ and His Word and you will find peace!

3 Profit Building Techniques For A Christian

When the word profit is used, we automatically think of money. How much money are we profiting from our actions in life? From our jobs, side hustles and whatever else we got going on, how much money are we bring in? That is the profit we think of.

Trust me, I am not going to give you a money-making scheme today, because that is not what this blog is about, nor do I have a money-making scheme to share. Today, I want to share with you, how you can become more profitable in your Christian life.

I was reading my Bible yesterday and I saw a verse in Job that stuck out to me and I have been thinking about it this past day. This verse is where I got today’s topic from.

“Can a man be profitable unto God, as he that is wise may be profitable unto himself.”

Job 22:2

I have been pondering that question, “Can a man be profitable unto God?”

I believe the answer to this is yes.

One of the meanings of the word profitable is beneficial, useful. Can a man be found beneficial or useful unto God? I believe the answer is yes, why would we be here if we couldn’t?

How can we build or usefulness towards God? Does God benefit from having us here on earth? What can we do to be profitable to God?

The first part of this verse is a question, the second part is a statement. “…as he that is wise may be profitable unto himself.” In the secular field, everyone is concerned about their profit. How can they be profitable to themselves? The people who wise in their work, in their money, in who they associate with, those are the ones who are profitable to themselves.

Whether we are profitable or not to ourselves shouldn’t be our main concern while here on earth. We need to be more concerned about being profitable to God and for God.

While I was thinking about this, I got to thinking that the Christian life can be summed up into 3 areas, no matter the topic. Your walk, your work and your worship are all vital to the Christian life. If you are lacking in one, you are not fulfilling the Christian life as God wants you to.

First technique in being profitable for God is you have realize that God has a purpose for you and that He wants to use you. “Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,” II Timothy 1:9 You will never be profitable for God, until you realize that you are a saved child of God and that He has a holy calling for your life. I am not saying that you are called to pastor a church or be a missionary or travel in evangelism, God has a calling for you to holy. For you to live your life as close to His Word as possible. We have to realize that our life isn’t to be wasted on the doing what we want, but it needs to be used serving the Lord in every way we can.

Second technique in being profitable for God is you have to recognize what is holding you back and get rid of it. You will never be profitable for God as long as you have something holding you back in your walk, work, or worship for Him. In Hebrews 12:1, it tells us to “…lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us…” We can have a sin that is holding us back or we can have a weight that is holding us back. What is a weight in the spiritual life? It could be a hobby that keeps you out of serving in ministries, it could be work taking up to much of your time, it could be sports keeping you away from the church. All those things are not sin, but they are weights which are hindering you from serving God. If you can’t recognize that you either have a sin or a weight, you will not be able to be profitable for God.

The third and final technique I have today in being profitable for God is refuse to quit standing for right and refuse to quit serving the Lord. The devil will do anything he can to get you to stop serving, to get you to lower your standards, to get you to give up when it comes to standing for what is right and for the truth. We need more Christians like Paul who once he got saved, went full steam ahead for serving the Lord. You cannot and will not be profitable unto God when you stop serving and stop standing. You then decide your way is more important than His and there is no profit in that.

When we live a life that is profitable unto God, that is the wisest thing that you can do. God will then bring profit to you in by taking care of you and blessing you.

So no, this isn’t a way to profit financially in our careers, but it is a way to profit from the blessings of God by living a life that is profitable to Him.

Caleb’s Guide To Success

It is the beginning of the year, and most everyone has made some type of New Year’s goal or New Year’s resolution. How are you doing with those goals and resolutions? Are you still on track? Are you still holding to them?

New t-shirt design! The Purpose Filled Life!

Last night we heard a message from Numbers 13. This is the story of the 12 spies who went into Canaan. There they saw all the good things, the land flowing with milk and honey. They saw the grapes of Eschol. They saw some amazing things. And God had promised it all to them.

The problem though was that there were 10 spies who were more worried about the bad things that they saw. They were worried about the giants and the walled cities. They were using the fear of these things to stop them from going over Jordan into the Promised Land.

When the people heard these 10 spies they became afraid also and they decided that they weren’t going to cross over Jordan and claim the Promise Land. They were going to let their fears stop them from claiming God’s promises.

We know how the story goes. The children of Israel wandered in the wilderness until the men who had decided not to go into Canaan had died, except for Joshua and Caleb There was a new generation that rose up who believed God’s promises and eventually were led by Joshua into the Promised Land.

Back to Numbers 13, we see Caleb stand up and tell the people this, “Let us go up at once, and possess it, for we are well able to overcome it.” Caleb desired and wanted the Promised Land. He was ready to whatever it took to conquer and possess the Promised Land.

So what is Caleb’s guide to success. You probably opened this post up wondering what I was going to say about being successful. But I am talking about this great man of the Bible, Caleb.

Be Different – The first thing I see about Caleb and the success he eventually had was that he was different. He stood out from the crowd with his desire to conquer the land of Canaan. He could have just sat there and said nothing and went along with the 10 spies and the rest of the children of Israel. But Caleb stood up before them and tried to motivate and encourage Israel to go get what God had promised. He wasn’t afraid of being different.

Many times we fail because of the fear of being different. We fail in the secular world

because we fear standing out from everyone else. We fail in the spiritual life because we are scared of being different from the world and we worry about what people may say about us. Caleb’s first step to his success was that he was different. He knew what he wanted and he knew what he was supposed to do, even if it meant being different.

Be Determined – Caleb was determined throughout his life. From this moment when he was ready to conquer Canaan to when he got his mountain at 80 years old. If he had lacked determination, he would have gone nowhere and accomplished nothing in his life. The 10 bad spies lacked the determination it took to go conquer Canaan. I like what Caleb said, “Let us go up at once…” He was ready to go! He was ready to fight! He wanted to pack up and get moving that day!

Don’t be a failure because you lack determination. Determine no matter how many times you fall and you fail that you will get back up and try again! Caleb wandered with those children for 40 years in the wilderness, yet he still was determined to get back into Canaan and conquer it.

Be Diligent – We see Caleb’s diligence throughout his life. He was persistent in his effort in getting to conquer Canaan. He could have given up and quit at any point during those 40 years, but he stayed diligent. His success didn’t come from taking it easy and just letting life happen, he work and put in effort to make things happen.

If we want to have success in any area of our life, we need to figure out what work needs to be done to be successful and than be diligent in your work and effort towards that goal. It will get tiring, it will wear you out, you may get discouraged but that is when you need to be diligent the most in your work!

Caleb had success throughout his life because he was different, his goals were different from everyone else’s goals. He was determined to accomplish those goals no matter the obstacles placed in his way. Caleb was also diligent throughout his life in making sure he put in the work and effort necessary to accomplish those goals.
